Actually, Obama is descended from an enslaved African in Virginia, on his supposedly-white mother's side. In fact, that ancestor, John Punch, was famous as "the "first official slave in the English colonies," and his case as the "first legal sanctioning of lifelong slavery in the Chesapeake." As Donovan says, Don't let appearances fool you.
