Having grown up devouring science fiction, and especially Isaac Asimov, I was excited to see Foundation finally come to the screen, and pleased with the diversity which Apple's version brings to it.

What would excite me even more is seeing stories by and about other than white men brought to the screen. In particular, I have been hoping for many years to see a screen version of any of the works of my favorite SF author - Octavia Butler.

Supposedly, there are several Butler stories coming to the screen. But I have heard that before. I can only hope - and that is what good SF should be about - hope.
