I agree with you completely. Because I agree completely, I must point out your misuse of the "Im shocked" Casablanca reference.

In Casablanca, Captain Renault (Claude Rains) is directed by his Nazi superiors to shut down Rick’s Café. Rick (Humphrey Bogart) asks him why, and Renault responds, “I’m shocked! Shocked to find gambling going on in this club!” Whereupon, one of Rick’s employees runs up to Renault with a wad of cash. “Here are your winnings, sir.” This illustrates the hypocrisy of the person claiming to be "shocked" (Renault in Casablanca) at something he participates in himself.

But you (William Spivey) are not a hypocrite.

You have correctly pointed out the racism in the DA's offices, and DiSantis' efforts to keep it that way.

It is DiSantis who would be hypocritically exclaiming how "shocked" he is to find racism in Florida. But, as far as I know, he has never "found" any. DeSantis seems to think that there never was any racism in Florida, and is quick to silence any voice that tries to point out the historic or present truth.

I've used this Casablanca "shocked" reference to illustrate the hypocrisy of employers who intentionally hire undocumented because they can exploit them easier, and then become "Shocked, Shocked!" when the immigration status of their employees is discovered.

Excuse me for being so picky about this. No criticism is meant. I'm a big fan of Casablanca and I have practiced in the area of immigration, including its connection to the criminal justice system. I just want to be clear about who the real hypocrite is here.
