I like this. This seems a return to what David Graeber and David Wengrow describe as the "three primordial freedoms" in The Dawn of Everything, existing in most of the history of human society:
1. The freedom to move;
2. The freedom to disobey; and most appropriate here –
3. The freedom to create or transform social relationships.
It was only recently, in the last couple centuries, that we became globally frozen in a particular type of society. That is why we need speculative fiction, just to be able to conceive of a different type of society.
