I will be interested to see how this book deals with the contradictions of Miller's upbringing. He went to school in what right-wingers call the "Peoples Republic of Santa Monica." He became Bar Mitzvah at the same Temple (Beth Shir Shalom) and Rabbi (Neil Comess-Daniels) where we now go, and where my son became Bar Mitzvah. Our Rabbi makes a point of calling out Miller as betraying Jewish values in pretty much every High Holy Day sermon. Apparently, those lessons did not take root in the young Miller.
