I'm sorry you had to go through this. My wife and I have been fortunate that our circle of friends and family on both sides have been more than welcoming. To counter this type of racism, I recommend a story from the Bible:

In Numbers 12, Moses' sister Miriam complains about "that Black woman" he married. (The actual term used was "Cushite," referring to the dark-skinned people of what is now Ethiopia, who at times ruled all of Egypt). God inflicts an appropriate punishment on Miriam for her racist outburst - her skin become ultra-white and starts flaking off (probably eczema). Miriam's life was spared, but she had to sit in quarantine for a week, contemplating her hurtful words.

Those who hurt you with their words should take heed!
