In his own words [in an article published in Pagaent in 1946], Einstein asked what "can the man of good will do to combat this deeply rooted prejudice?" His answer was to "have the courage to set an example by word and deed," to "watch lest his children become influenced by this racial bias." Einstein did not fool himself that "this deeply entrenched evil can be quickly healed." But, "until this goal is reached, there is no greater satisfaction for a just and well-meaning person than the knowledge that he has devoted his best energies to the service of the good cause."

Wherever I go, I am where I came from. Always a stranger in a strange land; yet always home. I claim no land, but take responsibility for all land.
