Thank you for getting this part of the story right. Unfortunately, that is not what is preached in most Christian Churches. For me, that is the problem.
You are offended by others "calling God 'sky daddy'" or "insinuating that Christians are 'gullible' for believing in the wonders of our faith."
How would you feel, if you were told that your ancestors were the ones responsible for the torture and death of Jesus? How would you feel if you were told that the blood of that prophet, who came to be called the Son of God was still on YOU, as one of their descendants, millennia later?

Jesus preached a message of tolerance and love. As I understand it, one of the core precepts of Christianity is the "Golden Rule" of Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." There is actually an older version of this, attributed to Rabbi Hillel, which I think is more appropriate: Do not do to others that which is hateful to you. We all need more of that tolerance and love, and less of what is "hateful."
