Thank you for this. There is actually a theory that Jesus travelled to India, or at least studied under a Buddhist teacher, during the missing period of his life, unaccounted for in the New Testament. There was certainly an exchange of ideas across Asia to the Middle East at the time. This is especially apparent in the Essene texts of the time (such as those in the Dead Sea Scrolls) and the Nag Hamadi - the early Christian texts which were edited out of the New Testament.

One example which caught my eye is from the Gospel of Mary (Magdalene). Jesus is asked "will matter be destroyed or not?" and he answers:

"All natures, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved again into their own roots."
