Thank you for this. I was going to write something along these lines. Let me just add this:

What disturbs me the most about the "check your privilege" doctrine is that it is just a recycled version of the "original sin" dogma. According to this dogma, we are born with "white privilege" or "sin." Under both doctrines, it does not matter what good one does in the world, what we each actually do to fight racism; we can only reach heaven or "wokeness" by reciting the correct beliefs, whether in "Jesus as our personal savior" or by "checking our white privilege." Instead of reciting the correct dogma, we should be doing the good deeds which will actually transform society.
