These are good questions, but I think it takes the discussion in the wrong direction, by focusing on differences rather than common interest. Systemic racism hurts everyone by creating what W.E.B. Du Bois called "artificial lines of division" blinding us to our common interest. Like Du Bois, I bang my head trying to figure out why people go against their own self-interest to perpetuate these systemic problems. Maybe everyone just needs to watch the banned movie "Salt of the Earth."
