This is personal. Nearly all my family in Europe were murdered as a result of the rise of fascism there. In my life, I personally knew, and offered shelter to, survivors of the infamous Soccer Stadium in Chile's 9/11. The common thread between them (other than the horror of what they witnessed) was that both groups could not believe that fascism could arise in what they thought were democratic countries. Seeing it happen all over again, I cannot be still.

One thing those of us in the USA can do is to demand that those involved in the January 6 Insurrection (especially those who incited and planned it), and in the continuing insurrection, be held accountable for their actions. Demand that teachers, lawyers, doctors, be disciplined by their professions. There are laws on the books throughout the country, designed for communists and anarchists, that can be used against the real insurrectionists. So far, these laws have only been used against the Left. It is time to demand that they be applied to anyone who yells "Fire!" in a crowded theater.
