Unfortunately, we live in an area dominated by the monopoly of Amazon. There are supplies my wife needs for her business which can only be found on Amazon. There are foods and supplements I need for my limited diet which can only be found on Amazon.

There are also smaller versions of Amazons, which take up a monopoly in their own niches. For example, Etsy, through which my wife sells her homemade pinwheels. Started as a community and showcase for craft artists, it was bought out, and is now operated for maximum profit. Artists, usually not known for their business acumen, get charged exorbitant fees through a complicated structure.

The good news is that the Teamsters Union has decided to take on Amazon. I work with several Teamster locals and funds. If any union can stand up to Amazon, it would be them.
