Unspoken, but I suspect where Professor Davis is pointing toward, is the abolition of the governing religion of capitalism itself. Capitalism cannot survive without oppression - taking more than you give - whether from oppressed peoples or the land itself. The "new possibilities" are not really new at all, we have just forgotten them.
